Explore a side of Tampere you would normally miss
Pispala is a very special place. Originally built by outcasts and rebels, ferociously independent over the centuries, home of art, culture and a still thriving rebellious spirit. It's sprawling alleys and unchecked architecture mirror the independent spirit, making it a truly unique place to visit.
On this tour we walk through the back alleys of Pispala, check out places of historical and cultural significance and visit houses of art and culture. We talk about the interesting history of Pispala and the significant impact of it to culture in Finland. If possible (pending opening hours) we stop for refreshments along the way.
We take a short bus ride from the center of the city and after the walk we return to the same spot, unless you wish to stay and explore more.
The trip in a nutshell

Learn about interesting history, art and culture.
See something you would not normally see in Tampere.
Total duration of trip: Approx. 3 hours.

How to prepare
Wear proper shoes, a water bottle and an umbrella are also good ideas.
Dress according to weather; Our summers are warm and winters are cold, and then there's everything in between. Mostly wet. And wet means quickly cold. Winter is cold, sometimes real cold, wear enough!
Open your senses and mind, shut down your phone. Honestly, this is the best thing you can do. Taking pictures is OK of course, but remember that the lens can never experience what your senses can.
More detailed instructions will be given according to trip & conditions.
